The Igiti Rwanda Foundation is a charitable fund, founded in 2023 and registered in Amsterdam. Our origins lie in the friendships that arose in Christ Church Amsterdam and Shyogwe Diocese from Rwanda. This friendly bond arose when Rwandan preachers came to study at the Tyndale Seminary in Badhoevedorp.
We felt the need to help these pastors after returning to Rwanda. This project is therefore organised around the question: “How can we support you after your return to Rwanda?”
Our projects are organized through the Anglican Church of Rwanda, Shyogwe Diocese. Churches in Rwanda, in addition to their faith missions, are entrepreneurs and organizers of economic activities. Starting and leading a variety of economic activities, including agricultural initiatives. Many rural communities remain deprived of government support and social security.
Our projects will be implemented in remote, poor communities, in the districts of Muhanga, Kamonyi, Ruhango and Nyanza, located in the Southern Province of Rwanda.
Organizing and training households in small-scale cultivation of avocados and other fruits, so that money is generated in these communities, enabling sustainable growth and improving quality of life.
Self-sustaining and user-financed growth by requiring users to contribute to costs so that a surplus is generated to finance future expansion and become independent of foreign donations.
Helping poor rural communities in the Rwandan districts of Muhanga, Kamonyi and Karongi to access cost-effective, small-scale solar energy. Households in these communities are off the grid and do not have access to electricity.
Helping users of small-scale solar energy installations to achieve continuity and growth in the operation, maintenance and sustainable future development of solar energy systems.
